Hi, my name is Daniel Cano, born in Spain a long time ago and currently living in Stuttgart (Germany). I am an architect, and here you will find samples of some projects I was involved into. Enjoy.
I’ve been related to the architectural industry in different roles for more than 15 years, starting when I was studying in ancient pre-internet age until today. My professional journey begun with a focus on working the architectural design through 3D development and visualization. Later, my understanding of the architectural project process from a holistic and speculative point of view, led me to a role that combined 3D with research and innovation. Thanks to these experiences my position eventually evolved into Project Leader, expanded with management duties in the recent years.
All the above, despite looking dry and thick, was made under one thought: if you are not having fun, you are making it wrong. And most of it thanks to the fact that I’m always eager to learn and discover new things.
I’m an open-minded endless learner, horizontal thinker. I understand knowledge sharing and collaboration are the core on how a team works. All these summed to some social skills, a few teaching experiences, and seasoned with managing abilities, evolved into my actual position at Ippolito Fleitz Group: I have a balanced mix of Recruitment Leader, New Business manager and Lead of the exciting kick off of our internal Academy.
When I’m not working, I love cinema, travel, arts, music, reading, plants and a sober taste for absurd humour, including quoting Monty Python not mentioning that I’m quoting (which leads to people confused as a cat).
My actual home in the lovely Stuttgart, except for ten great months in our Shanghai headquarters. Here I develop tasks as architect and project leader, changing my role in our horizontal non hierarchical structure as needed. I had the chance to participate in architectural and interior architecture projects in different typologies.
Awesome days in Barcelona, doing great projects as part of the ECP family.
The long term relationship with Javier Peña evolved from teacher to boss, and then friend. Along 13? years, I had the chance to participate in a wide range of works, architectural and non-architectural, developing a special workflow with the Xpiral team.
